Entry Level Production Positions

 

 

Job description

Nestled in the rural community of Walkerton, Ontario, Larsen & Shaw has been family owned and operated for over 100 years. We are a leading manufacturer of top-quality custom and standard continuous hinges, architectural products, custom metal stampings and laser cut parts and currently have an opportunity for an afternoon production press operator.

Reporting to the Production Manager, production positions range from equipment operators, press technicians, shipping, production assistant and plating operator. Responsibilities include:

Press Technicians and Operators: Performing setups, producing parts to drawing specifications and verifying quality requirements, troubleshooting issues and performing preventative maintenance as prescribed, participating in process improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned. Shipping: Packaging and Shipping of parts, operating equipment and assembling of shipping materials.

Plating: Operate Rack and Barrel Plating Lines in safe and efficient fashion. Hang/rack parts of various lengths and dimensions onto racks in an efficient manner.

These positions are permanent full time on the Day Shift.

Days: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Technical and mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail and ability to follow work processes
• Some computer skills, like Microsoft 365
• A desire to grow with the company
• Willingness to learn and work in a team-centered environment
• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating presses, preferred
• Driver’s license, preferred

 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Wage starts at $21.76.
• Scheduled wage progression and yearly increases, as determined by CBA
